A message from Farnsworth Middle School Principal Michael Laster:
Dear Families,
It has been very nice to see the return of sunshine and warmer weather as we start the spring season.
Typically, we plan to administer the state assessments that we give to all students in grades 3-8 at this time of year. This year, our planning has been different given the nature of this complex year and the New York State Education Department’s decisions to seek a waiver from the federal government. At this time, that waiver has not been granted; therefore, we are ready to administer the state assessments starting next week.
- The testing window for schools to administer the ELA assessment is from April 19 through April 29.
- The testing window for the math assessment is May 3 through May 14.
- The window to administer the grade 4 and grade 8 science assessments is June 7 through June 9.
Below is the testing schedule for students in grades 5-8. Please note that a separate communication with additional details for families of remote students planning to test will be sent separately. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s House Principal. We look forward to seeing how well our students perform on the computer-based state assessments this year.
