Superintendent’s Letter: GCSD Daily Health Screening Survey, September 10, 2020

The message below was sent to GCSD families on September 10, 2020 from Superintendent Dr. Marie Wiles:

Dear GCSD Families,

I hope your child/ren enjoyed their time this week connecting virtually (and in-person, for some) with their teachers and classmates. We just loved seeing them again! As students start their regular schedules next week, I want to emphasize how much we appreciate your support and partnership in the reopening of our schools. We will need your support and partnership more than ever as we begin this unique school year, especially when it comes to making sure our schools are safe and healthy places for everyone. That is the reason for my letter today.

This evening, we are releasing the GCSD Daily COVID-19 Health Screening survey to all district families. You will receive an email with a link to a health survey for each child you have in the district. We ask that you complete the survey right away as a trial run, so you can see what it looks like and to bookmark the link for future use. If you do not receive an email, please contact Michael Bastian at bastianm@guilderlandschools.net.

As part of the district’s reopening plans for health and safety, all GCSD parents are required to complete the health screen survey each morning by 7:00 a.m., prior to sending their child to school. This daily routine, along with keeping your child home when ill or presenting any of the symptoms outlined on the survey is vitally important to the success of the new school year.

You can visit this page on the district website to see what questions are asked and an example of what the survey looks like.

Thank you again for your partnership in keeping everyone in our schools safe. We can’t wait to see the kids, virtually or in person, next week.

Sincerely,

Dr. Marie Wiles
Superintendent
