WES school supply lists for 2020-21

School supply lists, by grade, for the 2020-21 school year at Westmere Elementary School can be found below. 

  • Please label all items with your child’s name
  • School supplies will not be shared this year

Kindergarten Supply List

  • 1 box of 24 Crayola Crayons
  • 1 box of Ticonderoga pencils (sharpened preferred)
  • 1 4-pk of black Expo dry erase markers
  • 1 box of thick Crayola washable markers
  • 1 heavy-duty folder w/ horizontal pockets(take-home folder for notes and papers)
  • 2 2-pocket folders with horizontal pockets, preferably different colors(for in-school use)
  • 4 glue sticks
  • 1 pair of student scissors, Fiskars blunt-tip preferred
  • 4 plastic pencil boxes, preferably different colors
  • 1 box of ziploc baggies(child’s last name beginning with A-M, gallon-sized, child’s last name beginning with N-Z, quart-sized)
  • 1 box of tissues
  • 1 backpack, large enough to hold a lunch box, take-home folder and books (and also big enough to hold snow clothes in the winter. Please NO rolling backpacks with wheels.)
  • 1 art smock, old adult small/medium t-shirt works best. NO plastic or vinyl, please.
  • 1 change of clothes in a handled grocery bag labeled with child’s name (include a shirt, pants, underwear & socks. Make sure your child’s name is written on clothing)
  • Headphones (with a STRAIGHT jack only, NOT 90-degree jack)
  • extra face mask(to be kept in school)
  • 1 reusable water bottle
  • 1 beach towel
  • 1 12-24 inch square scarf or bandana
  • 1 jump rope
  • light rain jacket
  • extra old sneakers (for PE days)

Art Supplies

The following art supplies will be needed to create art in the K-5 curricula. Families can share many supplies if desired. Many of the items in the list have already been requested by the classroom teacher and can be used for art.

Please note:
You may want to purchase extra school supplies such as glue sticks, crayons, markers, etc. for replenishing your child’s supplies throughout the year. Please keep extra supplies at home until needed.

Grade 1 Supply List

  • 4 two-pocket folders (1 blue, 1 yellow, 1 green, 1 red) Teachers will label.
  • 1 two-pocket durable plastic folder (to be used each day as a take-home folder)
  • 24 pencils (Ticonderoga brand works best – sharpened please)
  • 1 box of Classic Colors Crayola markers (thick)
  • 1 box of Classic Colors Crayola markers (thin)
  • 1 box of 24 crayons
  • 2 thin dry erase markers
  • 4 regular size glue sticks
  • 1 pair of child-size scissors
  • 1 composition notebook
  • 3 ring binder with clear view pocket (1-inch size)
  • 1 box of tissues
  • Labeled, reusable water bottle (filled at home each day)
  • Masks should be worn to school each day
  • Headphones: Please make sure they are comfortable for your child. Kids tend to prefer headphones as opposed to earbuds. The jack should be straight and not a right angle in order to best fit our devices.

    • 1 more durable bottom-pocket folder of any design for a take-home folder
    • 3 hard-cover black and white marble composition notebooks (wide-ruled, not graph)
    • 1 pack wide-ruled loose-leaf paper
    • 1-inch binder
    • 2 pencil cases
    • Earbuds or headphones
    • 1 box of tissues

    Please note: do not send trapper-keepers or wheeled backpacks. Lockers in the 4th-grade hallway are very thin and do not fit such items.

      This list was intentionally created without quantities and brands specified to make it easier for families to reuse what you might already have at home, or whatever brand/quantity best fits your budget. Art teachers will be supplementing these materials with additional media to create a richer art experience and give students more possibilities for expression. You will be notified about pick-up dates for additional supplies to be sent home. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us to help with supplies if you are experiencing any financial hardship.
