Apr. 12 update: stronger than sarcoma walk; BOE meeting tonight

A message from Dr. Wiles:

Dear GCSD Families,

On Sunday, May 1, the Still Stronger than Sarcoma walk will be held in Tawasentha Park to support two Guilderland Central School District students battling Ewing sarcoma, a rare disease. For more details and to register for the walk, please see the attached flier.

There is a Board of Education meeting tonight, 7:00 p.m.`

Tonight, at 7:00 p.m., the Board of Education will meet in the Large Group Instruction room at Guilderland High School. The board is expected to adopt the proposed 2022-23 school year budget. This meeting is open to the public and will also be live-streamed for viewing on the GHS Media YouTube channel.

Altamont Elementary School: 1 new case
Guilderland Elementary School: 17 new cases
Lynnwood Elementary School: 1 new case
Pine Bush Elementary School: 1 new case
Westmere Elementary School: 4 new cases
Farnsworth Middle School: 7 new cases
Guilderland High School: 9 new cases

With the start of spring recess and no school on Friday, Apr. 15, there will be a change to the schedule of communications to GCSD families. This week a second communication will be sent on Thursday, Apr. 14; we will suspend communications during spring recess and resume on Tuesday, Apr. 26.

It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Elementary Art Exhibit this afternoon at the Guilderland Public Library. What a tremendous display of student art, beautifully inspired by our elementary art faculty! Great job everyone!
