Dec.14: Six New COVID-19 Cases

This afternoon we learned of six new positive COVID-19 cases that the district. We are working under the Albany County Department of Health guidelines to determine who needs to quarantine and contacting those individuals. The Department of Health should be following up with them.

Below is the location of the new cases:

  • One case at Lynnwood Elementary School. Individuals who need to quarantine are being contacted by the school’s principal.
  • One case at Farnsworth Middle School. No contact tracing in the school community is required.
  • Four cases at Guilderland High School. Only one case requires contact tracing and those individuals are being contacted by the district.

Both Lynnwood and Farnsworth continue to be open for in-person instruction. GHS is currently fully remote through Tuesday, Dec. 15. For now, the plan is for grade 8-12 students to return for hybrid instruction on Wednesday, Dec. 16. However, this plan is subject to change pending the impact of contract tracing and the need for individuals to quarantine. We will communicate with you again tomorrow.

Thank you for your continued support as we continue to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for your children. If you have any questions, please reach out to your building principal. Thank you!
