Feb. 1 update: book drive to support Project: Cameron’s Story

A message from Dr. Wiles:

Dear Guilderland CSD Families,

As we communicated to Guilderland Central School District families last week, the court proceedings involving the mask mandate in the state of New York are ongoing. Last night, an appellate state court issued a decision and order granting the NYS Department of Health’s request for a stay. This means the mask mandate will remain in effect through March 2, 2022. All staff, students and school visitors continue to be required to wear a mask or face covering while in GCSD schools. As the appeal process evolves, we will continue to keep GCSD families informed.

GCSD schools are participating in Project: Cameron’s Story book drive

Once again, Guilderland schools are participating in a book drive to support Project: Cameron’s Story, a not-for-profit organization that collects new children’s books for families of babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at more than a dozen NYS hospitals. With the help of the Guilderland community, the district has donated over 6,148 books over eight years. Last year, the district donated over 1,500 books and the goal is the same this year. To learn more about the GCSD book drive to support Project: Cameron’s Story and how to donate, visit the district website.
