Guilderland Central School District students were well represented at the annual Music In Our Schools Month performances held at the Empire State Plaza.

Six different GCSD ensembles performed to help advocate for music education in New York State. From Farnsworth Middle School, the Chamber Strings, Vocal Thunder, Select Band, and Jazz Ensemble performed; from Guilderland High School, the Chamber Singers and Jazz Ensemble performed.

Congratulations to all of the teachers and students involved. The performances were exceptional and the students did the Guilderland community proud.

For nearly 40 years, March has been officially designated Music In Our Schools Month® (MIOSM®) by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). The purpose of MIOSM is to raise awareness of the importance of music education for all children and to remind citizens that school is where all children should have access to music.
