Mar. 25 update

A message from Dr. Wiles:

Dear GCSD Families,

This week has been a difficult one for the Guilderland Central School District. The news has been very disturbing and has brought about many emotions for our school community. Our plan is to continue to work together with our community partners and to draw upon all of our resources to keep our students safe and provide them with the support they need. As I have previously stated, students are encouraged to speak to a school counselor or social worker if they feel the need. Families can always contact me or any of our building leaders to share their thoughts and concerns.

COVID-19 cases for Mar. 22-Mar. 25

The information below details the number of new COVID-19 positive cases for Mar. 22-Mar. 25. For daily positive COVID-19 cases affecting GCSD, please visit the NYS COVID-19 Report Card.

Altamont Elementary School: 2 new cases
Guilderland Elementary School: 1 new case
Lynnwood Elementary School: 1 new case
Pine Bush Elementary School: no new cases
Westmere Elementary School: 2 new cases
Farnsworth Middle School: 13 new cases

Again, I would like to remind families that if students are experiencing any symptoms, related to COVID-19 or not, they should remain home from school. This small step can greatly reduce the spread of illness. If you have questions about your child’s symptoms, please contact your school nurse.

As always, thank you for your continued patience and support. Have a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,

Marie Wiles, Ph.D.
Superintendent
