Superintendent’s Letter: Livestream Q & A Discussion, August 30, 2021

Please see an update on opening plans from Superintendent Dr. Marie Wiles:

Dear GCSD Families,

The start of the 2021-2022 school year is rapidly approaching and the staff and teachers at the Guilderland Central School District are busy preparing for your students’ return to in-person learning.

Monday, August 23, we posted a draft form of the Opening Plan for the 2021-2022 School Year on the district website that addresses several topics of interest. Please keep in mind that the plan is a draft and is subject to change. This is likely to happen since Governor Hochul announced on Tuesday she is immediately directing the New York State Department of Health to issue guidance regarding return to school for New York state districts. Once that guidance is released, we will update our opening plan accordingly, if necessary.

Next week on Monday, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. we will host a livestream Q & A Panel Discussion on the GHS Media YouTube page about our opening plan, featuring members of our Reopening Committee. Questions can be submitted ahead of time and the panel will address as many as possible. Please complete this form if you would like to submit a question.

Thank you again for your continued patience and partnership. These times have been challenging but together we are achieving an important goal — bringing our students back to in-person learning in a safe and healthy environment.

Sincerely,

Dr. Marie Wiles

Superintendent of Schools
