Thank you for your feedback; October ThoughtExchange results

At the Nov. 18 regular meeting of the Board of Education, Superintendent Mayberry presented and discussed the findings from the October ThoughtExchange survey.

At the Guilderland Central School District, we believe collaboration and open communication are the foundation of a thriving educational community. The survey invited school community members to share their thoughts on what matters most to them. As this is Superintendent Mayberry’s first year leading the district, he wanted to better understand the priorities and perspectives that define Guilderland—to learn, listen, and lead more effectively.

We appreciate the time and thought of each participant dedicated to sharing ideas and rating those of others. Although there was a modest turnout of 381 participants, the nearly 8,000 ratings show that our community was actively engaged in the process. Your feedback has been invaluable in identifying key themes and areas for growth.

Community responses reflected a wide range of perspectives and priorities, including effective communication, investment in school resources, and support for teachers. Feedback also emphasized fostering community, promoting diversity and inclusion, and ensuring student safety, well-being, and preparedness for the future.

These insights will guide our next steps as we continue to strengthen our schools and ensure all voices are heard and valued.

We are grateful for your continued support and partnership in shaping the future of the GCSD. We look forward to continuing this dialogue and keeping community voices at the center of our work.
