Each week, we highlight two student-athletes (modified, mod 9, frosh, JV or varsity level) for athletic accomplishments based on the following criteria:
- The athlete should have made a significant impact on a contest within the nomination time frame, which is the week prior to selection; or
- The athlete must have shown excellent leadership, sportsmanship, noticeable improvement or effort, community service, and/or other notable traits.
Congratulations to Christina Williams (Varsity Basketball), Elliana Famodu (Varsity Wrestling) and Liz Countermine (Varsity Wrestling) for earning DOW (Dutchmen of the Week) honors for the week of February 2nd
Christina Williams (Varsity Girls Basketball)
Christina delivered an impressive week, averaging 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists as her team went 1–1. She highlighted the stretch with a 33-point performance at Schenectady, knocking down seven three‑pointers in a 67–35 victory. She’s playing her best basketball of the season as the team heads into the final push toward sectionals.

Elliana Famodu (Varsity Girls Wrestling)
Elliana delivered an impressive performance at the Class A Girls Wrestling Sectional Tournament at Niskayuna High School, finishing with a 5–1 record. Entering as the No. 7 seed in her weight class, she battled her way onto the podium and earned a 3rd-place finish!

Liz Countermine (Varsity Girls Wrestling)
Liz, a proud third‑generation Guilderland wrestler, continues to shine in our program. This past weekend, she earned a strong second-place finish in her semifinal match, securing her spot in the Women’s Wrestling Sectional Tournament on Feb. 16. Throughout the season, Liz has led with integrity, passion, and unwavering positivity. We’re honored to have her on this team and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next.
