Allyssia Pickel and Nadia Hawrylchak named Dutchmen of the Week for the week of Jan. 22

Congratulations to Allyssia Pickel (Modified 9 Basketball) and Nadia Hawrylchak (Varsity Wrestling) for earning DOW (Dutchmen of the Week) honors for the week of January 22.

Allyssia Pickel (Modified 9 Basketball)

Allyssia scored 19 of the Lady Dutch’s 38 points to help clinch the victory against Saratoga. As the starting point guard, Allyssia controls the offense and creates opportunities for her teammates and herself to score. On defense, she is the top of our press and contributed to some key turnovers that helped our team gain momentum. Despite only being a seventh grade student, she doesn’t mind the pressure of being the start of the defense and offense for her team. Congratulations, Allyssia!

Nadia Hawrylchak (Varsity Wrestling)

Nadia is one of the founding members of the Guilderland Varsity Girls Wrestling team. She placed third in the Section 2 Tournament. This punched her ticket to the NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Invitational. Nadia is a huge promoter for the sport and trains year round. Congratulations, Nadia!
