Dear GCSD Community,
As we look ahead to February break and beyond, there is much to do and stay informed about.
Budget development continues
Since October, the leadership team has been planning how to best serve your children in the year ahead. As next year’s spending plan continues to take shape, we hope you will join us in this important work.
One way to participate is through our annual budget ThoughtExchange survey, which will remain open until 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9. If you haven’t taken part yet, we encourage you to take a few minutes to complete the anonymous survey. Thank you to everyone who has already shared their thoughts—and to those who plan to do so!
There is also a Board of Education meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. in the High School LGI. We hope to see you there.
Check our calendar—and mark yours!
We’re inching into “events season”! Next month brings spring sports, school musicals, spring concerts and more. Until then, there is always something happening in our schools, on our stages and in our spaces! Looking for something to do? Check the district calendar.
New kindergarten student registration has begun
GCSD is accepting registrations for new kindergarten students for the 2026-27 school year. To be eligible, children must be 5 years old by Dec. 1 of the year they enter kindergarten. For more information on the kindergarten registration process, please visit the student registration section of the district website.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership. Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Daniel Mayberry
Superintendent of Schools
