Mar. 4 update: superintendent’s budget presentation

A message from Dr. Wiles:

Dear GCSD Families,

When the statewide mask mandate for schools expired on Wednesday, Mar. 2, it had some effect on the COVID-19 protocols the Guilderland Central School District already had in place. We suggest families visit the district website to review the newly revised COVID-19 protocols and procedures plan in its entirety or read the frequently asked questions on the new school masking and testing guidance.

Superintendent’s Budget Presentation, Mar. 8

As part of the budget development process, Mr. Neil Sanders, the Assistant Superintendent for Business,  and I will present the draft of the 2022-23 school year budget to the Board of Education and the Guilderland community at the Tuesday, Mar. 8 Board of Education meeting. This meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Large Group Instruction (LGI) room at Guilderland High School and is open to the public. The meeting will also be live-streamed and can be viewed on the GHS Media YouTube channel. On Tuesday, March 15, the district will host a question and answer session on the budget. Details on how to submit questions will be shared next week.

COVID-19 cases for Mar. 1-Mar. 4

The information below details the number of new COVID-19 positive cases for Mar. 1-Mar. 4. For daily positive COVID-19 cases affecting GCSD, please visit the NYS COVID-19 Report Card.

Altamont Elementary School: no new cases
Guilderland Elementary School: no new cases
Lynnwood Elementary School: no new cases
Pine Bush Elementary School: no new cases
Westmere Elementary School: no new cases
Farnsworth Middle School: 3 new cases
Guilderland High School: 2 new cases

For the second year, the GCSD community will be raising awareness and funds to support two GHS students battling Ewing Sarcoma. All of the details are on the district website.
