Monica Bauer and Jon Wojcik named Dutchmen of the Week for the week of Oct. 2

Congratulations to Monica Bauer (Varsity Girls Tennis) and Jon Wojcik (Modified Cross Country) for earning DOW (Dutchmen of the Week) honors for the week of Oct. 2.

Monica Bauer (Varsity Girls Tennis)

Monica won a three-set battle (7-5, 2-6, 6-4) against a tough 4th singles player from Burnt Hills. This secured another win for Guilderland! The sportsmanship these two opponents demonstrated while on the court was very impressive and made me proud to coach Monica. In fact, the opposing player sent me an email expressing how wonderful it was to play against Monica, how kind she was, all while still being a fierce competitor!

Jon Wojcik (Modified Cross Country)

Jon has been on the modified cross country team for two seasons. This year, he has made huge improvements on his times. His average mile time this year has gone from 7:22 per mile to 6:29 per mile. At the Grout Invitational, he improved his time from last year by over two minutes! Jon is an asset to the team on and off the course. Keep up the great work, Jon!
