Technical issue with Seesaw

A message from Dr. Wiles:

An update to this message: The Guilderland Central School District has been informed by Seesaw that this issue has been resolved and it is safe for families to open messages from Seesaw.

Dear GCSD Families,

Today the Guilderland Central School District was made aware of an issue with Seesaw, a learning platform used at our elementary school level.

Some teachers received unauthorized messages with photos and/or a link that were inappropriate. These messages were not sent to or seen by students.

We have been informed by Seesaw that the matter is being investigated. While this is taking place, Seesaw has turned off messages for all users, to prevent further spread of any inappropriate material, and the offending link has been removed.

GCSD advises parents to not read or click on any links on Seesaw until the district updates parents that the issue has been resolved.

When we have more information, we will update families accordingly. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Marie Wiles, Ph.D.
Superintendent
