K-12 Schools Update: Symptomatic Household Member

Families received an email from the district with information about a new health directive from the Albany County Department of Health regarding siblings of symptomatic students. In short, effective immediately, the ACDOH advises K-12 school districts to exclude siblings of symptomatic students from attending in-person classes pending COVID-19 test results of the symptomatic student. Please be sure to read that information carefully.

COVID-19 in GCSD Schools

There have been several questions about when our district will begin COVID-19 testing. Our supply of tests is on-site, our consent forms have been returned and our nurses are completing their training. We have been awaiting authorization to begin testing and expect it very soon. Once given the go-ahead, we plan to complete the testing in each school building.

We are also planning a drive-thru testing option at our transportation center tentatively scheduled for Saturday, January 16, 2021. Please watch for more information.
