Budget vote set for May 21 at all elementary schools
On Tuesday, May 21, Guilderland Central School
District residents will
head to the polls to vote on a $91,023,200 budget for the 2013-14 school
year. This proposed budget represents an increase in spending of
$1,763,340 (+1.98 percent) over the current year’s budget. If approved
by voters, it would result in a 3.39 percent tax levy increase in the
coming year—below the district’s maximum allowable tax levy limit as
calculated under the state’s “tax cap” formula. Tax rates are estimated
to increase by the same amount. In addition, on May 21 voters will elect
three members to the Board of Education and decide on a bus and
equipment proposition.
