Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are writing to share an important update regarding our after-school transportation.
Like many districts in the region, we are experiencing a significant shortage of qualified bus drivers. This challenge is now directly impacting our district’s ability to maintain our full schedule of late bus routes. Beginning Monday, May 11, the district will reduce the number of late buses in service.
Because we will be covering the same geographic area with fewer buses, routes will now be longer. Students who ride a late bus home should expect to arrive significantly later than usual.
For real-time transportation updates, families are encouraged to download the Stopfinder Transportation App. The app provides live bus tracking and route information, which may be especially helpful as ride times change.
We understand that this change may cause inconvenience for your family’s schedule, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and flexibility as we navigate these staffing shortages. Our top priority remains ensuring students are transported home safely each day.
If you have the ability to arrange alternative transportation for your student’s after school activities, you may want to do so to avoid these extended travel times.
Thank you for your continued support of our schools and our students.
Sincerely,
Daniel Mayberry
