FMS Butterfly Station now open

Marking its 26th year of operation, the Butterfly Station will run from July 11 until August 8. The attraction will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and, beginning on July 17, Thursday evenings, 4:30-7:30 p.m.

The Butterfly Release Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, August 8 at 9:30 a.m.

Free to all visitors, the Butterfly Station is a student-run, community service program designed to educate about the Albany Pine Bush Preserve and the importance of butterflies to our local habitat. Guided tours will be conducted daily by FMS and Guilderland High School students and include a walk through the courtyard, the butterfly house, the metamorphosis room and arts and crafts. August 7 is the last day for tours.

The Butterfly Station is located on FMS school grounds at 6072 State Farm Rd, Guilderland.
