Dear GCSD Families,

As we communicated to families on Friday, excessive temperatures are forecasted for early next week, with heat indexes predicted to reach 100 degrees. To ensure the safety of students and staff, the Guilderland Central School District will adhere to the following schedule to maintain healthy learning environments:

Monday, June 23

  • Elementary buildings will follow a regular schedule.
  • Farnsworth Middle School will be closed due to the ongoing repairs resulting from the water main break that happened on Friday, June 20. Students and staff should not report. The Checkpoint A exam will be given on Tuesday, June 24.
  • Guilderland High School will follow the Regents exam schedule, as previously announced. Transportation will be provided.

Tuesday, June 24

  • Elementary buildings will release at 11:05 a.m. Transportation will be provided however, no lunch will be served.
  • Farnsworth Middle School will release at 12:15 p.m. Transportation will be provided however, no lunch will be served.
  • Guilderland High School will follow the Regents exam schedule, as previously announced. Transportation will be provided.

These changes in schedule were made to ensure the health and safety of both students and staff and to minimize the potential for heat-related illnesses. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Sincerely,
