A message from Superintendent Mayberry
Dear GCSD families,
One short week in, and we are so happy to be back. From welcoming students on the first day to seeing classrooms and hallways buzzing with learning, these opening days have set a positive tone for the year ahead.
Thank you to our students, families and staff for helping make the start of the school year such a success. As routines take shape and students settle back into school, we’re off to a great start.
Start the year strong and build the habit of good attendance
Regular attendance plays an important role in student success. Because the routines established during the first few weeks of school often continue throughout the year, we encourage families to make attendance and on-time arrival a priority from the start. Together, we can help every student get the most from each school day.
We recognize that families sometimes face challenges that can affect school attendance. When that happens, our school counselors, social workers and support staff are here to help connect students and families with the support they need. We are committed to ensuring every child feels welcome, supported and excited to come to school each day.
New, more secure passwords coming for students in grades 6-12
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance cybersecurity and protect student accounts, GCSD is updating student passwords for all students in grades 6-12 to a new, more secure format. The password update will go live before the start of the school day on Friday, Sept. 18. Click here for details.
