A message from Superintendent Mayberry
Dear GCSD families,
We have wrapped up our first full week of the 2025-26 school year, and our schools are filled with energy and excitement. Classrooms are already buzzing with learning, and hallways and cafeterias are alive with conversation and connection. Students are quickly settling into their routines, and it has been wonderful to see our school community come together.
At Guilderland High School, students began using Yondr pouches to store personal devices during the school day. The first days have gone smoothly thanks to the cooperation of both students and staff. We are already seeing the process become more efficient, and we will continue to make thoughtful adjustments along the way.
We appreciate the support of students, families, and staff as we establish this culture together. Limiting distractions helps students focus more deeply on learning, strengthens connections with their peers, and contributes to a safer, more supportive environment.
Finding our flow
Adjusting to new schedules and routines can take time. If you have questions, we are here to help. The Contact Us section of our website features an A–Z directory that makes it easy to know who to reach out to and for what. We encourage you to use this tool whenever you’re unsure where to turn.
Save the dates
The coming weeks bring a busy calendar of activities and events. Information about open houses and other school events is shared directly with families through ParentSquare, and the district’s online Google calendar is always available as an up-to-date and accurate reference. Open houses are a valuable opportunity to meet teachers, learn about classroom expectations, and connect with other families.
As a reminder, I will also be attending a number of school events this month and next, and I hope to see many of you there. Each gathering is a chance for me to listen, learn, and continue building relationships across our school community.
Thank you for your partnership as we begin this school year with collaboration and care.
Sincerely,
Superintendent Mayberry
