Each week, we highlight two student-athletes (modified, mod 9, frosh, JV or varsity level) for athletic accomplishments based on the following criteria:
- The athlete should have made a significant impact on a contest within the nomination time frame, which is the week prior to selection; or
- The athlete must have shown excellent leadership, sportsmanship, noticeable improvement or effort, community service, and/or other notable traits.
Congratulations to Everett Jones (Modified Track & Field) for earning DOW (Dutchmen of the Week) honors for the week of May 25th.
Everett Jones (Modified Track & Field)
Everett closed his season with a strong final week, posting a personal-best 24 seconds in the 200 meters and anchoring the 4×100 relay to a modified-level boys record of 49.2 seconds. He also recorded a season-best high jump of 5 feet, 6½ inches and ran 11.56 seconds in the 100.
He showed significant growth as both an athlete and a leader, consistently supporting his teammates. Everett will carry strong potential into high school next year.
