GCSD resources to engage learning at home during school closure

Beginning on April 1, the district transitioned from maintaining the skills previously learned to providing more structured content to allow students to move forward in their learning. More information was shared with students and families on  Monday, March 30, 2020.

Home Learning  and Student Engagement

We created a site for home learning and home student engagement resources for students and families to navigate online continuity of instruction and educational engagement.

Additionally, principals and instructional administrators will be available by email during normal school hours to answer any questions you may have regarding the resources.

Digital Libraries

WMHT Public Media Educational Programming Block

WMHT is offering an educational programming block and online resources targeted at students pre-k through 12.

For the complete programming schedule, related resources, and additional home learning opportunities, visit wmht.org/homeclassroom.

Social and Emotional Learning

To support families and students, the district created a site compiling social and emotional resources including contact information for district mental health service workers, general resources for parents, and programs for students of all ages.  Visit the social and emotional learning resources page.

During School Closure

We encourage you to try to maintain a schedule and routine with your child. You might want to consider varying the amount of time using technology and media and avoid excessive exposure to media coverage.

During this time where there are more questions than answers, it’s important to reassure your children that they are safe and to let them talk about their worries. To help with those conversations, we compiled information and resources about COVID-19.
